Musical Memories
As we have said elsewhere while neither of us are musically talented we do embrace music, are in awe of those that are, from musicians, to vocalists to last, but by no means least, the song writers, all of who produce the magic that touches us.
We have seen many New Zealand artists including Bic Runga, Dave Dobbyn, Dragon, Hello Sailor, Split Enz and Th’ Dudes to name just a few. Unfortunately, we have never managed to be in the right place to catch our country’s most successful band, Crowded House.
One of our favourite things we do to relax is to wind down in a local pub while enjoying local musician(s). Something we have enjoyed in many of the wondrous places we have found ourselves in. This has led to some great experiences such as chatting to a couple of wonderful musicians in a bar down the end of Beale Street in Memphis and in Lafayette having Abi Claire, a young female artist, come up to us for a chat after she had entertained us while we experienced genuine cajun food for dinner being gob smacked when we told her we have just seen Stevie Nicks in San Francisco and in absolute awe when we mentioned we’d seen Bowie live, twice!

Shows We Have Enjoyed
Alphabetical Order
Given our mutual love for music it was probably somewhat inevitable when Carolyn ended up working with a chap who was also the Stage and/or Production Manager for the New Plymouth Operatic Society, an amateur theatrical society providing musical theatre, that we’d end up involved. Every night for many weeks across a number of years Carolyn found herself actively engaged in the wardrobe department and David on the fly floor.
